A lunch worth $52,000 for Roman Abramovich

Even today millions of people sleep empty stomach but people like Roman Abramovich, billionaire and owner of Chelsea Football Club have got lots of money to blow on food which could feed an entire army. Recently Roman Abramovich had lunch at Nello's in New York and the bill came to a whopping $47,221.09.

The lunch menu comprised of filet mignon, white truffles and a bunch of expensive wines and it fed ten people at the table. An automatic gratuity of 20% was added to the bill which totaled to $7,328 but the large hearted Roman Abramovich added an extra $5,000 to the tip raising it to 26% of the bill.

Even though a representative of Roman Abramovich disputed the size of the bill but Nello still sticks to the story.

Swiss Gold Bars available off the shelf at Harrods

Here is gold raining this season at the Harrods Department Store. It has teamed up with Swiss refiner Produits Artistiques Metaux Precieux for offering gold bars weighing each at 12.5kg.

This is the first store offering gold in store and the gold bars can be purchased from the lower ground floor of the store. Even though the store hasn’t revealed the prices yet but at the current prevailing prices it will cost somewhere around $466,000.

Seems the clouds of recession are fading away.

Michael Jackson's light glove goes under the hammer for £44,000

Probably it is the love and admiration for late Pop King Michael Jackson which has made me write this post.

The illuminated white glove of Michael Jackson which he wore during his 1984 Victory Tour had been put for auction. This white glove was termed as the ultimate piece of Michael Jackson memorabilia. It was made by Ted Shell for the 1984 tour in which Jackson brothers performed together for the last time.

The white glove comes adorned with Austrian crystal rhinestones and shining bugle beads. It comes fitted with fifty tiny lights which have been powered by nine volt battery in cuff along with a switch to turn them on and off. Wired on separate circuits, the glass bulb lights twinkle at random for added visual impact on stage. Finally it went under the hammer for £44,300.

Penthouses selling for $39 Million in Hong Kong

At a time when economy is reeling under recession and property prices are tumbling like pack of cards opposite seems to be happening in the land of Hong Kong. Sun Hung Kai Properties Ltd which is the largest developer in the world by market value has shot up the prices of two of its penthouses in Hong Kong by 50% to a record price of $9,700/sq ft as demand for luxury apartments has started to shoot up.

Each unit is being offered at a price of $39 million each covering a total of 4,000 square feet on three floors with an outdoor garden and swimming pool.

I just wonder why god gives all the money to just a few!!

Good news for all those people who are big fans of US President Barack Obama and would like to live closer to him. Obama’s neighborhood property is up for sale. This is a 17 room, 6,000-square-foot home at 5040 South Greenwood in Chicago’s Kenwood neighborhood which is bang next to the Chicago residence of Barack Obama.

The owners Bill and Jacky Grimshaw haven’t decided on a price tag for the property and are seeking offers from the prospective buyers. A vetting process has been initiated for the interested buyers and property tours will be offered to them twice a week through early October.

Michael Jackson portrait up for sale, need millions of $$$ for it

It was the death of fallen Michael Jackson which brought him back into limelight again and in order to cash on it a 1984 portrait by Andy Warhol of the late singer Michael Jackson is being put for auction at New York.

This portrait was commissioned by TIME Magazine as a mark of celebration for the record sales of Michael Jackson’s album Thriller. This 30 x 26 inches portrait of Michael Jackson will be auctioned off in New York with the starting bidding price at £500,000.

I think it will find a lot of takers and the bidding price would definitely zoom past millions of dollars when it goes under the hammer.

Wispa Gold: World’s Most Expensive Chocolate Bar

Can somebody please buy me this world's most expensive chocolate bar? This is Wispa Gold, the gold leaf covered special edition selling at £961.48. This marvelous chocolate bar is covered in edible gold leaf and enclosed in gold leaf wrapper.

This caramel filled chocolate was launched in 1995 and was discontinued in 2003 but will be available for sale again for a limited period from September 14. I can still feel its taste when I used to eat it as a kid.

I don’t have so much of money so I will wait for is 55p version. 

I was looking for a second car for myself and accidentally I came across what could become the costliest car in the world. Hans-Günther Zach who runs the celebrated marque in Mühlheim/Main, Germany plans to sell his jewel in the crown the Star of India. This is a 1934 Phantom II 40/50 HP Continental All-Weather Convertible custom made for the Maharaja of Rajkot.

If everything goes well then it would fetch a whopping €10 million and if my calculations are correct then it would be touted as the world’s costliest car. So if you are a die hard Rolls Royce fan then you cannot miss out on it!!
